Kay Stallworthy Named Finalist for ColoradoBiz GenXYZ Award

Cadence’s Managing Director Gains Recognition as a Top Professional Under 40 in Colorado

If you have worked with Kay Stallworthy in any capacity, you will not be surprised to learn that she was nominated and chosen as a finalist for the ColoradoBiz’s GenXYZ Award. This annual tradition celebrates young professionals who are making significant contributions to their business, industry and community.

About the GenXYZ Award

The ColoradoBiz Magazine GenXYZ Award is in its 11th year and celebrates young professionals in Colorado under forty that are making an outsized impact in their industries. Dozens of nominations for the award are narrowed down to fifty finalists, at which point a panel of judges will select the Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals based on the nominees’ professional success, community involvement and philanthropic endeavors.

ColoradoBiz describes its under-40 recognition award as “looking for the 21- to 39-year-olds: the go-getters, the mobilizers and hotshots in Colorado who are using their youthful energy to take care of business.”

Kay’s Award-worthy Contributions

From the time Kay joined Cadence in 2006, she has continued to transform the organization on a foundational level, bringing the team together and setting the standard of excellence that Cadence displays today.

Her success at Cadence is marked in many different ways. In 2016, Kay spearheaded Cadence’s rebranding effort, a three-year project that resulted in shaping Cadence’s positive image in the Colorado real estate community and beyond. In 2020, Kay stepped into the role of Managing Director of the Rocky Mountains. Her leadership proved to be pivotal to Cadence’s success during the global pandemic. Kay never took her eye off the ball and carried Cadence through the especially uncertain times with a sense of grounding and intention that is rare in the turbulent commercial real estate field.

Kay’s outstanding leadership skills and achievements have paved the way for others in the commercial real estate field to succeed, and she has been a fierce advocate for equality in the workplace. Involved in a number of organizations that aim to give women a seat at the table, Kay has made an impact in her community through her love of volunteering. Her annual donations to CREW (Commercial Real Estate for Women) Network and the Women’s Foundation, as well as her membership to Girls, Inc., a mentorship non-profit organization in Denver is a testament to her desire to foster career advancement for all women.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to be recognized by my peers for my contributions to the commercial real estate field,” Kay reflects. “Throughout my career, I have strived to show all women that we not only deserve a seat at the table but that through leadership and hard work, we can make the table bigger for everyone.”
